Rent cinema gear from real filmmakers.
No hire house queues. No phone calls. Browse, request, pick up, shoot — with insurance active from the moment you take possession.
How renting works
Browse listings
Search by category, location, or availability date. Filter by daily rate and sensor format. Every listing includes the owner's profile, gear history, and condition photos.
Check the condition report
Every listing includes owner-submitted photos and a verified condition rating before you commit. You'll see the actual state of the gear — scratches, lens dust, sensor marks — before requesting.
Request and message
Send a rental request and message the owner to confirm dates and pickup details. Most owners respond within a few hours. No minimum booking periods.
Pick up the gear
Arrange a pickup time that works for both of you. Verify the gear on-site against the condition report. Rental insurance activates the moment you take possession — not when you sign a form.
Return and review
Return the gear in the same condition you received it. Leave a review. It helps the next filmmaker make a good call — and it builds the community reputation that makes P2P lending work.
What makes it different from a favour between friends
Insurance from the moment you pick up
Rental insurance activates on handoff — not on delivery, not on form submission. If something happens during your rental, you're covered. No separate policy to buy.
Verified condition reports
Every listing requires an owner-submitted photo condition report before it can be published. You know exactly what you're getting before you agree to anything.
Verified owner profiles
All owners go through identity verification before they can list gear. Renters are verified too. This isn't Craigslist — both sides of the transaction are accountable.
Common questions
Contact Wedio immediately. Rental insurance covers accidental damage that occurs during the active rental period. You'll submit a report and we handle the assessment and resolution with the owner. The process is documented from both sides — the condition report at pickup is the baseline.
Yes — message the owner through the platform to request an extension. Extensions are subject to the owner's availability and must be agreed before the original return time. Do not simply keep the gear beyond the agreed period without confirming with the owner.
Listings marked "Available now" can typically be arranged for same-day pickup, subject to the owner confirming a time. Most owners in Copenhagen respond within a few hours. Same-day isn't guaranteed — it depends on both parties agreeing on a pickup time.
Rental insurance is included in every booking and activates at handoff. It covers accidental damage, theft during the rental period, and equipment failure from a covered cause. It does not cover intentional damage or loss from gross negligence. See the insurance page for the full scope.
You can browse all listings without an account. To send a rental request or message an owner, you'll need to create a free account and complete identity verification. The verification process takes a few minutes.
Rental requests that haven't been confirmed by the owner can be cancelled at any time. Once a rental is confirmed, cancellation policies vary by listing — check the listing for the owner's cancellation terms before confirming.
